the 7-hour break

mood :: restless
sounds :: no doubt - new
random thought :: could i actually survive a 7-hour break?

Today was a bum day alright. I had the chance to go out the whole day but I didn't (and I had money so I really had no reason to stay home... but I did :) ). Everyone's going to the movies to see Star Wars EpIII: Revenge of the Sith. I'm not. No offense to all the fans out there, but I never really fancied the sci-fi or fantasy genre in film. Which would be the reason why I haven't seen a full-length Star Wars film (I've seen EpI but I never really understood the plot) and I haven't read an entire book or seen a movie of Harry Potter (I read only until chapter 4 of the first book) and Lord of the Rings (Again, I watched the first movie but... well... let's just say I fell asleep :) ). Anyway, obviously I wasn't in the mood to go out today so I just slacked around the house and tried not to bore myself (I wasn't really bored... more like restless).

1st term sked

FILIPI2 :: MWF 1540-1640
PHILHIS :: MWF 1650-1750
LITERA1 :: TH 800-0930
RELSTWO :: TH 1620-1750

I looked at my EAF today and I frowned at the big hole in my sked during Tuesdays and Thursdays. big hole = 7-hour break. This worry never left my mind ever since I enrolled last March. I have a pretty light load this term (I am deblocked and I am an irregular student... it's fun actually because you get to meet all sorts of people around DLSU [my brother told me it sucks if you stay with your original block until your last term... he did and he said it wasn't much fun because you were confined with the original group of people you've known since freshman year], but it's not fun when you have long breaks like the one in my sked right now). Actually, a VERY light load. That's because I'm not allowed to take more than 12 units of general eductation subjects (I'm shifting next term and I'm only taking up subjects that will be credited once I shift). And another thing, unlike other Lasallians who scramble to get a really good sked (all-morning classes, half-day classes, etc.), I was one of those students who could care less about the time. Instead, I prioritize classes with professors who I heard taught impeccably (and I'm not getting those professors just because I heard they were an easy 4.0, mind you. I choose those who are really adept in the subject they are handling --- who are usually the ones who can be quite a challenge). No matter what time the class was (either 700-800 or 450-550), I was going to choose a class with a quality professor --- but that meant a big hole. What was I going to do during that 7-hour break? All my blockmates were specializing in different Computer Science fields and it was hard to keep track of all their skeds. I was also contemplating if I could just go home after my LITERA1 class, but that would mean a very expensive bus fare from going back and forth.

I'm so restless i couldn't even finish this entry. Basta I'll keep you guys posted. Hopefully I'll be ready for this upcoming term. :)
